Equipping Young People

We have designed and delivered 29 projects that engaged with a total of 5906 children and young people to equip them with creative, social, and basic skills (often accredited), whilst also increasing their self-esteem and confidence. One example has been our Long Term Transition Projects (Key Stages 2 and 3) with vulnerable pupils to help them stay in school and build their emotional resilience. Our partners included local Schools, Cardiff Youth Service, Community Focused Schools, Cardiff Youth Offending Service and EMTAS.

Participants and Stakeholders said:

‘It’s been pretty interesting, I enjoyed it a lot, especially with the camera. Personally I think I’ve become more confident.’ – Saleena (aged 15)

‘Flexible, Creative, Visionary, Fresh and Innovative.’ –  Su West, Communities First

‘Resolving proper issues that affect people.’ – Dave Creaghan, Cardiff Youth Offending Service

‘We’ve been left with outcomes that are so professional that the children continue to be proud of them, and I show them each time I provide training on working with Roma pupils as examples of positive resources.’ – Mary Lewis, EMTAS

We have achieved outcomes which have included:

  • improved confidence, self-esteem and resilience amongst young participants

  • Young People feeling more empowered, engaged and inspired to be active citizens

  • Enhanced creative, social, and basic skills (e.g. literacy, problem solving, communication, and film production)
